As part of a full home remodel, this client’s home was originally designed by famed celebrity designer Michael Henry and the look and feel of it never reflected them. The color scheme and design elements were dark and heavy, and they longed for a sense of calm, light, and openness throughout the entire home.

Project Overview:

Addressing the client’s lighting was first and an electrician come in to repair and replace the interior and under cabinet lighting elements. We removed the island lighting as well as the ceiling mural and created three new light boxes for pendants. We hired an artist to faux paint the cabinetry to lighten the color and bring out the beautiful carved details around the kitchen, and to execute Angie’s vision of a black cupboard on the left side to visually balance the room. We also added new honey bronze hardware.

The kitchen was then painted in a neutral with green undertones and ivory trim. The island seating was replaced with leather counter height bar stools on a smaller scale and the eating area received a new black table with seating in performance fabrics. We topped it all off with three beautiful wrought iron pendants, a new chandelier, and soft valances to match the drapery in the adjoining living room.
